Leads represent potential customers who have not yet qualified for the sales process. This article illustrates how to Qualify or Disqualify a lead.




Qualifying a Lead

 

 

Leads can be converted into Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, or any combination of the three. Selecting Open newly created records will open the records selected once the lead has been qualified. In order to to qualify a lead, follow these steps in order.


1. In CRM, click on the Sales tab on the left hand side.

2. Double click on the lead that will be converted.

3. On the toolbar select Convert Lead

 

4. Select what you would like the lead to be converted into (i.e. Account, Contact, Opportunity)

5. Select OK

 


 

 

Disqualifying a Lead

 

 

You can choose to disqualify a lead if no follow up is required. Disqualifying simply deactivates it and does not delete it.When you disqualify a lead you are able to select a reason why. By default, the four options are LostCannot ContactNo Longer Interested, and Canceled. You are able to add more disqualification reasons to better fit the needs of your Sales team. Much like with qualifying a lead, providing detailed information such as the reason it was disqualified can be used as valuable to data for making marketing decisions.To disqualify a lead, please see the following steps.


1. In CRM, click on the Sales tab on the left hand side.


2. Double click on the lead that will be disqualified.

3. Select Disqualify.

4. Select the reason why it was Disqualified (This is not required)

5. Select OK.
